Taylors on Mission

The Taylors have always had a special place in their heart for missions. The main goal of their ministry is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music throughout the world!  Everywhere they go, The Taylors share Jesus with the lost.  They view every concert as a mission opportunity where people need to hear about God's love.  In addition to ministering to churches through music, The Taylors enjoy sharing God's love with others through community projects.

From the young age of 11, Jonathan remembers going on his first mission trip to the North Carolina Children's Home in Thomasville, NC, to share Jesus Christ with the kids and youth of the orphanage.  "It was such a humbling experience to see kids my own age who didn't have parents like I did.  These kids had nothing in this world of their own.  You would think they would be angry, but most of them were kind-hearted and receptive to what we had to say."  Jonathan enjoyed his first taste of missions and decided that mission-work would be a part of his future ministries.

Jonathan then participated in "Touching Miami with Love"  in 2004, where he helped teach Vacation Bible School for the underprivileged kids of inner-city Miami.  Each missionary was assigned three "buddies" to work with on a daily basis.  Jonathan was thrilled when he witnessed all three of his kids make first-time professions of faith!  During the trip, Jonathan also helped to feed and clothe the homeless at local shelters and cared for the terminally-ill.

In 2008, Jonathan was able to join a team from the NC Baptist Men on mission to Kauai, Hawaii.  He and his team worked with kids in the area through music and VBS.  This gave them the opportunity to share the Gospel with people who are not normally receptive to Christianity.  While there, Jonathan also helped build homes with the local Habitat For Humanity.  He also helped feed and clothe the homeless with the local Salvation Army.

In 2009, Jonathan returned to Kauai with his family - James, Sandra, Suzanne, Chris, and Leslie - for a second year of missions to the same community.  While there, The Taylors worked with the kids and youth in the community through Vacation Bible School and music.  The Taylors were thrilled when 16 youth and 2 adults made decisions for Christ!  You can learn more about this trip by clicking here.

Later in 2009, The Taylors continued their mission work in New England, specifically Vermont.  Vermont caught the attention of The Taylors when they became aware that the state is the number-one most unchurched state in the US - only 2% claim to be born-again believers!  The Taylors immediately knew that this was where God wanted them to be.  For 10 days in late-October, The Taylors spent time in The Green Mountain State working in homeless shelters, nursing homes, and local churches.  The Taylors were excited to leave Vermont knowing that 62 first-times decisions had been made for Christ!  Though Vermont is the number-one unchurched state, God is working in a mighty way with our northern-neighbors!  To see photos of this trip, click here

Many people think that you have to go to Africa or South America to go on missions.  While The Taylors have spent time on missions abroad, there is a huge need to minister to people right here in the United States as well.  That's why The Taylors have teamed up with the NC Baptist Men to promote Taylors on Mission.  Taylors on Mission is a new charity that is aimed at reaching people in the United States with the Gospel of Christ.  Throughout the year, The Taylors will be involved in projects where they will minister to people from other states through music, preaching, and community services.  These projects will involve feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, using Vacation Bible School to reach kids, and providing music at various churches across the country.
